Ek Pahel believes that empowering vulnerable children begins with enhancing the social and economic strength of their families.
To achieve this, we launched the 'Ek Pahel Swabhiman Centre', where we provide adult education to women and equip them with various skills. Skill development enhances their employability, boosts confidence, and enables them to earn a livelihood, ultimately improving their family's financial stability.
Additionally, Ek Pahel initiated Pukaar—a Legal Counseling Cell dedicated to supporting women facing challenges such as domestic violence, acid attacks, eve-teasing, property disputes, and more.
Key Activities Under the Project:
- Provide adult education (focusing on functional literacy) to poor women
- Provide training in the following courses:- Stitching | Knitting | Beautician | Dona Making | Henna Designing
- Pukar - Legal Counseling Cell for creating awareness regarding legal rights of women and providing needed legal counseling and assistance to women facing problems
Future Directions:
- Provide employment to women trained in stitching and beautician by starting environment friendly cloth bag and parlour at Ek Pahel Swabhiman Centre.
